This week was productive. I worked on the Postcard Cuties, Farmers wife and got the center of the Coxcomb together. The Postcard snowmen are coming together quickly, I have 7 blocks done. They are wool appliqué and regular needle turn. I used the Union Blues line of fabric rather than the Snowmen Gatherings line of fabrics from Moda. They are similar in colors and the Union Blues was in my stash. The blocks are pieced first then the appliqué and embroidery is added, then the top is put together with the borders. It uses a jelly roll and a charm pack to make it up.I completed this weeks Farmers wife blocks, Bea and Becky.
I went to PIQF yesterday, Sunday. It was a good show, since there was a football game I think a lot of people stayed away. The floor wasn’t crowded and the quilts were very well done. I have three that really stood out in my mind.
This was so intricate and impeccably pieced. Tiny yo-yos, appliqué, embroidery, lace, beads, everything.
Next, a red and white sampler(?) inspired by the “Infinite Variety” red and white exhibit.
Some of the pieces were ½” finished. The reds were scrappy too. Very crisp and well quilted.
This Medallion Quilt was by a New Zealand Quilter. I didn’t get a shot of the info card, but the quilt was very striking to me.
Linking up with Judy at Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday.
Also WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.
The little snowmen blocks are looking lovely! You have certainly had a productive week.
